Regional Bible Quiz Competition Concludes Successfully in Batticaloa

Batticaloa, Sri Lanka – May 31, 2025 — The spirit of biblical scholarship and youthful enthusiasm was on full display as the 59th All-Island Bible Quiz Regional Competition concluded triumphantly at the YMCA Batticaloa. This annual event, a cornerstone of spiritual and educational engagement among Christian youth, brought together some of the brightest young minds from across the region.

Held at the historic YMCA premises, the competition featured intense and insightful participation from teams in two key age categories: Under-16 and Under-12. Each team came prepared not only with their biblical knowledge but also with the passion and dedication that have become a hallmark of this respected competition.

In the Under-16 category, Puliyanthivu Methodist Church – B rose to victory, once again affirming their reputation as a powerhouse in biblical literacy. Their thoughtful answers and composure under pressure earned them the championship title. Hot on their heels, Methodist Church Kalmunai claimed the runner-up position with an equally commendable performance, leaving spectators inspired by the depth of understanding both teams demonstrated.

Meanwhile, the Under-12 category saw St. Cecilia’s Girls’ College continuing their impressive winning streak. Their teamwork and preparation were evident as they confidently navigated complex biblical questions to secure the championship. The runner-up position went to Thirukkovil Circuit – Athathikulam, whose spirited participation and earnest effort earned admiration from all in attendance.

This year’s event was notable not only for the excellence displayed by the participants but also for the flawless execution of the program—thanks largely to the tireless efforts of the YMCA Batticaloa Youth Club. Their behind-the-scenes work ensured the event ran smoothly, from logistics and coordination to hospitality and technical support.
