International Children’s Day Celebration at YMCA Batticaloa

The YMCA Batticaloa came alive with joy and celebration as students from YMCA Vaalvosai School gathered to mark International Children’s Day. The event highlighted the theme “Children are a Gift from God”, bringing together faith, fun, and cultural richness in one memorable day.
The program began with an opening prayer and devotional message delivered by Rev. Sam Subendran, Chairman of the North-Eastern Province of the Methodist Church, who emphasized the value of nurturing and protecting children as the foundation of a better future.
Following the ceremony, children participated in a variety of activities including fun games, cultural performances, and group interactions, all guided by their dedicated teachers. The vibrant performances showcased the talents of the young participants and filled the atmosphere with excitement and cheer.
The celebration was more than just an event — it was a reminder of the importance of recognizing children’s rights, creativity, and potential. By offering them a space of joy and unity, YMCA Batticaloa reaffirmed its commitment to uplifting the younger generation.
The day concluded with smiles and laughter, leaving a lasting memory for the children and the community. Truly, it was a celebration that reflected the spirit of International Children’s Day — honoring every child as a blessing and a hope for tomorrow.
